Asus today announced its latest Transformer Book – the T100 at Intel’s Developer conference.

The Asus Transformer Book T100 features a two-part dockable design that combines the productivity features of a traditional laptop with the mobility of a tablet. It sports a 10.1-inch IPS display that packs a 720p resolution.

The tablet is constructed from glossy plastic with a metallic paint finish and slightly visible concentric circles similar to those seen on the company’s Zenbook Ultrabooks. The keyboard dock on the other hand, is finished with soft touch paint that is textured to feel like real metal.

The convertible will powered by Intel’s latest Atom “Bay Trail” Z3740 quad-core processor with either 32GB or 64GB of on-board storage, which is augmented by one free year of Asus’s WebStorage service and a microSD card slot.

According to Asus the T100 can last up to 11 hours on battery but is very lightweight at just 2.4lbs. The device’s keyboard dock features precision-engineered keys designed for comfortable extended use.

Connectivity features include a micro-USB, micro-HDMI, and a lone USB 3.0 port in the keyboard dock.

The Asus Transformer Book T100 will be available by October 18 for US$349 for the 32GB version and $399 for the 64GB model.
