Apple today announced the MacBook, a 12-inch notebook measuring just 1.31cm at its thickest point and weighing 0.92kg. According to Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing, the MacBook is 4mm thinner than the 11-inch MacBook Air.
Aside from the ultra-thin form factor, the new MacBook's most unique feature is the fact it only has two connectors: a headphone jack and a single USB-C port. This USB-C port functions as an input for the device's charger, a standard USB port, Ethernet port, DisplayPort output, VGA output and HDMI output. However, until USB-C becomes standard, dongles and adapters will be required for everything but charging.
