Apple Release Patch Fix For iPhone

Apple fix iPhone security breach after demonstration

Collin Mulliner and Charlie Miller are a couple of computer security researchers who demonstrated how easy it is to hijack an iPhone, at the recent Black Hat conference.

They demonstrated that it was possible to possibly hijack the phone with a simple SMS message. They did notify Apple of the problem four weeks ago, but the company did not respond, so they decided to publically show how easy it was to take over the handset.
Apple’s response was a little more immediate; within 24 hours they have released a security patch that will stop someone’s phone being taken over.

To get the patch, go to iTunes, choose your device and click “Check for Update.” A dialogue box should tell you that version 3.0.1 is available for your iPhone. Go ahead and click “Download and Install,” and follow the commands from there.
