AMD has upped its game in the production of graphics cards as it releases its latest GPU – the Radeon R9 295X2 codenamed Project Hydra.

The card relies on two R9 295X2 chips, which were reportedly tweaked to run faster together compared when they are used separately. The card is capable of reaching up to 11.5TFlops of computing power making it a good component for those who want to build powerful machines that are capable of supporting 4K gaming.

The card uses 8GB of GDDR5 memory and packs two 512-bit memory bus. It also supports Direct X 11.2 and AMD’s Project Mantle. It also provides double the performance of its predecessor, the R9 290X and comes equipped with a tethered cooling system designed by Asetek.

The Radeon R9 295X2 will be available just before the end of May for AU$1617.
