Amazon has forayed into the world of mobile games with its very first entry titled Air Patriots. It has launched the game on Kindle Fire, Android and iOS.

Air Patriots will use Amazon GameCircle to track more than 50 achievements. Game progress can also be saved in the cloud with WhisperSync.

This is a good time for Amazon to enter the gaming market. EA and Zynga, who once ruled the land, are now shaving off expenses and even laid off some of its workforce.

Moreover, its move to go into gaming puts it within Microsoft’s arena. They are now the only two companies that make both a tablet and mobile games to play on it.

Amazon launched its game simultaneously on Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD, as well as all Android devices, iPhone, and iPad.

It's a free download, which includes the first three levels, and users can get the remaining four levels with an in-app purchase of AUD$2.87.
