Adobe has announced that it will contribute to Google’s Blink browser engine.

Adobe has announced that it will contribute to Google’s Blink browser engine.

The announcement was made by the Adobe’s director of engineering for the company’s Web Platform team Vincent Hardy. He also added that Blink will strengthen an already healthy browser competition and believes that the web shouldn’t be limited to a single code base even it that implementation has variations.

Adobe has long been known to contribute to various platforms including Google’s Chromium project, WebKit and even on Mozilla’s Gecko engine. Hardy has also stated that the internet still needs other engines like Gecko and Microsoft’s Trident to nurture an open and innovative environment.

Adobe is the latest company to announce its support for Blink following Opera which previously abandoned its Presto engine in favour of WebKit.
