Adobe has now acquired a new company in line with its thrust to push designers and people involved in the creative field to its Creative cloud. The company in question is the New York-based mobile app design agency Thumb labs.

The terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed but the company’s staff of 10 will now be joining Adobe, based out of New York. The main purpose of Adobe for this acquisition is for Thumb Labs to develop mobile apps for another recent company acquisition – Behance.

Behance which was acquired by Adobe last December 2012 for a reported $150 million is social platforms that lets designers and creative people showcase and get their works discovered. Thumb Labs will be tasked to maintain Behance’s existing apps as well as develop new ones including apps made specifically for tablets.

Moreover, the company says that there will be more focus on other Creative Cloud initiatives and that work will certainly involve other teams in Adobe’s umbrella for integration with the company’s cloud-based services.

The Thumb Labs team has previously worked with Behance making the New York based company a good choice for Adobe to develop its Behance apps. According to one of the company’s co-founders, Jared Verdi, Thumb Labs will first see out existing contracts it has with other clients, but beginning May 31, will focus on exclusively developing mobile apps for Behance.
