Activision is making its first new Guitar Hero in five years

Activison overnight announced Guitar Hero Live, the first instalment in its long-running rhythm game franchise since 2010.

At the heart of the title is a redesigned guitar controller that now features two rows of three buttons. In addition to simplifying the game for beginners, the new layout means more experienced players will be required to utilise chord shapes similar to the ones used on an actual guitar.
