Acer recently announced a smartphone-smartband combo at this year’s COMPUTEX tech show in Taipei, Taiwan.

The smartband called Liquid Leap has a 1-inch touchscreen display that can display both fitness-related user information as well as notifications for calls and SMS. According to Acer, the Liquid Leap’s battery can last up to 7 days on a single charge and will monitor the user’s statistics 24/7.

The smartband also has IPX7 certification which means it can go for a dip in a meter of water for 30 minutes. The smartband will be offered in different colour options including moonstone white, mineral black, aquamarine, fragrant pink and vivid orange and will be available by Q3 2014.

The Acer Liquid Leap connects to its partner smartphone – the Acer Liquid Jade, which will have a 5-inch 720p IPS display featuring Acer’s Zero Air Gap technology for better viewing angles. The camera will also have a 13MP camera at the back with an f1.8 aperture and 0.3 second focus speed.

Acer has equipped the Liquid Jade with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The handset will also be available starting Q3 2014 with pricing information to be released at a later date.
