It looks like HTC’s beefing up its current line of Android handsets as a new handset has emerged today, courtesy of the web’s favourite mobile phone tipster – evleaks.
The phone is currently known as the HTC Zara and will feature a 4.5-inch display of the SLCD2 variety) and has qHD resolution. In terms of performance, the handset will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip with two Krait CPU cores clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 305 GPU. There’s also 8GB worth of internal memory but that can be expanded via a microSD card slot.
There’s an 8MP camera with LED flash at the back, which should support 1080p video recording. In terms of software, the Zara will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with HTC’s Sense 5.5 user interface on top.
The handset will have the same capacitive button setup as the HTC One, One Mini and the Desire 600. It also has BoomSound speakers at the top and bottom of the device as well as a 2100mAh battery.
The HTC Zara is expected to be announced in September, probably alongside the HTC One Max.
