3G Kindle Shipping Now
Amazon has said that it has started shipping Kindle Touch 3G to customers in over 175 countries and territories around the world, seven days earlier than the previously announced
Kindle Touch 3G is the top of the line e-reader offering the same new design and features as Kindle Touch, plus the unparalleled added convenience of free 3G wireless.
“Orders from customers worldwide for our new line of electronic ink Kindles have exceeded our expectations,” said Dave Limp, vice president, Amazon Kindle. “…We know that customers are eager to get their hands on our newest Kindle which is why we’re delighted to be able to ship several days earlier than we planned.”
Kindle Touch 3G is said to have an easy-to-use touch screen, allowing users to turn pages, search, shop for content, and take notes. It has an electronic ink display that reads like real paper, even in bright sunlight, with no glare. It is also said to be small and light, has a two month battery life and holds up to 3,000 books, plus offers free 3G. Kindle's free 3G connection means you don’t have to find wifi hotspots. Amazon pays for the 3G connection so there are no monthly fees or annual contracts.
