LG CES 2022 – the new OLED line-up the most impressive yet (AV)

LG CES 2022 unveiled the 2022 next-generation OLED line-up with a huge 97” model to supplement the 55, 65, 77” and 83” G2 (Evo) models. The C2 range is now Evo as well with 48, 55, 65, 77 and 83”.

While the OELD panels are all one generation advanced, the real work is behind the scenes with a new webOS 22 and more powerful image processors. OLED TVs have individually self-lighting pixels to deliver perfect blacks, incredibly natural colours and infinite contrast. As there is no backlight (like LED/LCD, mini-and-micro-LED), OLED is thinner and lighter, allowing for the creation of unprecedented form factors such as bendable and rollable TVs.

The Gallery series (flush to the wall and stand mount) use a new α (Alpha) 9 Gen 5 intelligent processor. It renders objects and background separately to give an enhanced sense of depth. Brightness Boosterenables more brightness through improved heat dissipation and a more advanced algorithm. LG’s AI Sound Pro feature provides viewers with more lifelike audio decoding and downmixing Dolby Audio and other sound codecs to the TVs in-built or soundbar system.

Also, use an Evo grade panel certified flicker-free by both TÜV Rheinland and Underwriters Laboratories and glare-free by UL. LG’s OLED panels have also have TÜV Rheinland certification for their low blue light performance and meet the low blue light emission requirement of Eyesafe, a U.S.-based health standards agency.

LG TVs make it easier for creators to appreciate their accuracy; they also make it easier for customers to see movies as their creators intended. LG was the first in 2021 to offer auto-switching to Filmmaker Mode when enjoying Amazon Prime Video content.

LG’s own mini-LED Quantum Dot NanoCell technology has 100% colour volume in the brightest and darkest areas. All QNED90 series are certified for 100% colour consistency even at different viewing angles
