Acer Aspire Vero – a green laptop for a more sustainable future

The Acer Aspire Vero is made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) material. It uses a massive 30% overall from its top and bottom cover, screen bezel, and operating surface and 50% on the keycaps.

The result is a unique look and feel of a paint-free laptop. It even has standard screws to enable easy upgrades and future recycling. Even the packaging is 100% recyclable.

It is not a gimmick. Every aspect of the Acer Aspire Vero series focuses on ‘balance’ of performance to energy use. Balance of battery life to current use. It does this via Acer VeroSense battery modes. These include Eco+ (extreme battery saving); Eco Mode (all functions available tuned to maximise power efficiency) Balanced mode (automatically changes battery profile according to use); and Performance mode.

Vero is the beginning of a new eco-friendly Vero line including PCs, laptops, monitors, mice, sleeves and more.

Cybershack view – Acer Aspire Vero look vero good!

Regardless of whether you are a climate change believer or sceptic, it is nice to see companies redesigning their products for repair, reuse and recycling.

We suspect that real green credentials will become a driving force in the consumer space. Acer is leading the pack here. Not only with Vero but its innovative ConceptD7 SpatialLabs 3D laptop that allows you to see realistic 3D without the need for 3D glasses.
