Acer ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs edition – stereoscopic 3D without special glasses

Acer ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs edition is a unique concept providing realistic stereoscopic 3D views without special glasses.

It is for CAD, CGI, Developers, Creators, and Designers to edit in 2D and view in 3D. It supports all major file formats from popular 3D software such as Blender, Autodesk 3DS Max, Fusion 360 and more. The output is rendered in SpatialLabs Model Viewer.

3D viewing requires Acers ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition. This has a lenticular lens display and eye-tracking technology (for gesture control and movement). Powered by an Intel Core-H i7 11th gen, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 64GB RAM, 2TB NVMe PCIe SSD, 15.6” 4K IPS display (Pantone validated and 100% Adobe RGB Delta E <2). It also has HDMI 2.1, Display Port 1.4, 2 x Thunderbolt 4, USB-C and A, Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth. It is also best used with a tandem 2D screen.

The secret sauce is the 3D, 4K screen and eye-tracking. This allows different images to show for each eye, creating a realistic 3D effect.

Acer is breaking the barriers between people and technology. SpatialLabs is an excellent example of how we try to let that goal guide everything we do. Designers can finally see their 3D creations in 3D during the workflow. It enables better judgments and fine adjsutments on the fly. Developers gain new ways to tell stories and bring their ideas to life.

Acer ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs edition uses

  • A car configurator lets dealers show different models and options to the customers
  • Interior designers can share their design walkthroughs with clients. This gives them a better sense of space and the scale of each item within that space
  • Motion capturing technologies can create videos with volumetric depth. Users can enjoy 360-degree cinematic experiences from anywhere in the world
  • Geospatial earth observation combines high-resolution data from satellites, aerial platforms and bathymetric sensors. This can then fuses teh data to create true 3D landscapes

At present, all we have is a ‘from’ EUR 3,599.00. Allowing for local taxes and currency hedging means somewhere north of A$7000.
