Back in September, we’ve heard that Beats Electronics has found a new investor that will expand its business beyond personal audio. Today, it looks like that that new investor is someone very familiar to a lot of people – Apple.

According to various sources, most specifically The Financial Times, the company from Cupertino will be buying Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion. The deal is expected to be finalised as early as next week.

Naturally, Apple has declined to comment on the report, but if ever, this acquisition will be the company’s biggest purchase in its History. At present, Apple is already selling Beats products in its retails stores. Purchasing Beats Electronics would also allow Apple to cut off its competition as Beats’ streaming music service is directly competing with Apple’s iTunes Radio.
