The program, which has been operating overseas in the US and UK for several months, sees popular Youtubers partnering up with YouTube to display banner ads on their videos, earning some posters thousands of dollars in extra income a month.
Speaking with AAP, a YouTube spokesman said “It has certainly been an incentive for people to create more content. There are people overseas who have millions of video views and are earning thousands of dollars.”
Thus popular Youtubers will have the chance to join the program and earn some dosh… “It’s open to all sorts of people with popular, widely-viewed videos. We’re hoping there will be lots of Australian video producers who will benefit from this program.”
