Xbox 360 Warranty Goes From One Year To Three Years

Xbox 360 owners who fear problems can worry less as Microsoft have extended the warranty from one year to three years.

Hardware news in the form of failure rates today comes as Microsoft announces they’re changing their one year warranty and extending it to three years.

In recent days, the news has been less than thrilling for Microsoft with reports that the Xbox 360 has a 33 percent failure rate and many of the repairs not making much of a dent when they’re sent back. As such, this move will cost Microsoft between 1.05 and 1.15 billion dollars in repair costs for the problematic consoles.

This news comes today as one person from EB Games has publicly commented that the Sony PlayStation 3 has “failure rate of less than one percent”.
