For X-Men scribe Joe Madureira, a new take the Apocalypse is what his new M15+ game is all about
Darksiders is a new action/adventure video game that will plunge players into a near future world devastated by the apocalypse, which will be coming out on January 7.
Developed by Vigil Games, including founding member and legendary comic book artist Joe Madureira (X-Men), Darksiders gives players the opportunity to become War, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. As War, explore a demon ravaged world and seek vengeful redemption with a vast array of mythical weaponry, fighting against Hell and Heaven in a battle of biblical proportions.
“Darksiders is an adventure game, first and foremost” says Madureira. “It has a very classic adventure game structure I can honestly say I have never played a game like Darksiders and I have played quite a lot of games over the last 25 years. The experience is unique.”
Madureira left comics for videogame development in 2006 and has brought with him a wealth of experience.
“I don’t think anyone gets into the game industry for the cool factor or to become a rock star. It’s a long and difficult road, and in the end it’s just the love of making and playing games that keeps most people in the business. It’s probably as big of a cultural phenomenon for this generation though, as rock and roll was decades ago.”
