World Cyber Games 2007 Australia

World Cyber Games 2007 Australia has been announced. This global video game tournament is now open for registrations in Australia. To find out more, check out the WCG Australia site.

World Cyber Games is the single largest and most well known video game event globally. The event is run annually in over 70 countries worldwide and has sponsorship from Samsung Electronics and Microsoft. This event sees nearly one million players from around the world compete for the title of world gaming champion.

This year, a team of Australian Finalists will take on gamers from all over the world, such as China, Germany, France, Mexico, Korea, Japan and Russia, in the PC games, Counter Strike 1.6 and WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne, and the console game, Dead or Alive: 4.

National Finalists will be determined by the state based Qualifiers (NSW, VIC, SA, WA, and QLD), culminating in a National Final event in Sydney in late August. Winners of the National Final in Australia will be flown to the Grand Final in Seattle, USA to participate in the world’s most prestigious e-Sports competition. The Grand Final will be held on October 3rd to 7th, 2007 at Qwest Field.
