Vodafone offering up to one year of bonus data to prepaid customers
Vodafone today announced a new offer enabling prepaid customers to claim 2GB of bonus data per recharge for the entirety of 2016.
The offer is open to customers who recharge at least AUD$40 on their new or existing prepaid account before January 26 next year. After the initial recharge, customers will continue to receive an additional 2GB of data every time they recharge, provided they recharge on or before their expiry date.
For customers who sign-up now, this amounts to 26GB of bonus data spread across 13 months.
On Vodafone's AUD$40 prepaid combo, customers taking advantage of the offer would receive 5GB of data per month as opposed to 3GB, in addition to unlimited talk and text, and 90 minutes of standard international phone calls to select countries.
For comparison, Amaysim offers an AUD$39.90 per month recharge option including 5GB as a base allowance with unlimited talk and text, but no international calling. Optus offers 4GB on its AUD$40 prepaid plan, with unlimited talk and text, and AUD$10 of international calls, roaming and premium services. Telstra has a similar offer with 3GB of data, but until January 25 next year, customers receive an additional 3GB of "night data" to use between 8pm and 8am.
