Vodafone today announced a partnership with Qantas that will see customers earn Frequent Flyer points when they sign-up to or a recontract a Vodafone post-paid plan.

New and re-contracting customers will earn a minimum of 4,000 Qantas points when they sign up for a 24-month contract, with eligible plans starting at AUD$45 per month. Customers who register via Vodafone's website will receive double the amount of points as a signing bonus.

Vodafone's Qantas plans are as follows:

AUD$80 SIM only plan with unlimited talk and text, 20GB of data, and 7,500 Qantas points (or 15,000 for customers who register online)

Vodafone Sales Director Ben McIntosh said the telco decided to give subscribers bulk points up front, rather than drip feeding them out to customers over the two-year contract period based on end-user feedback from similar schemes.

Notably, if a Vodafone customer chooses to receive Frequent Flyer points as a signing bonus, they will forgo their free access to Spotify, Stan, or Fairfax publications.
