Sony Australia is shipping Bravia 3D TVs in time for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. At Sony’s 3D launch event in Sydney, it was revealed that a limited shipment of Sony 3D TVs will arrive in Australia ahead of schedule this month, with more stock to follow in July.

Speaking at the event, Carl Rose, Managing Director, Sony Australia and New Zealand, said the overwhelming consumer interest in Sony’s 3D range has prompted the early delivery of Bravia 3D TVs and that the initial shipment of 3D products will arrive within weeks.

Sony’s complete 3D range will include Bravia TVs, Blu-ray players and home theatre systems, and NEX-3 and NEX-5 interchangeable lens cameras, which will be capable of capturing 3D Sweep Panorama images that can be viewed on a compatible 3D TV.

In addition, PlayStation 3 is now 3D-ready for stereoscopic games and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s first 3D Blu-ray release will be family favourite Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
