Samsung Blu-rays With Dual Recording

  • 500GB-1TB storage
  • Web browsing capability
  • Pull content to smartphone or television

Samsung’s new Blu-ray line will include Dual PVR recording, a full web browser and web-based content and services through Samsung’s Smart Hub.

The units are designed as symmetric products with centralised controls. The line-up’s lack of mechanical parts also makes for a smoother and quieter loading experience than its predecessor, claims Samsung.

Consumers have an easy way to enhance and upgrade their current TV experience with various services and content options. The 3D Blu-ray line-up provides access to Samsung Smart Hub where users can access, search and explore Samsung Apps via compatible Samsung Smart devices. They also have built-in wifi for access to a variety of web-based content and connectivity options.

Sharing content is viable due to the players being DLNA-certified. The devices will be supported by Wi-Fi Direct, which allows Samsung wifi devices to be connected directly and easily without a wireless access point.

The new 3D Blu-rays’ video processor can up-convert DVDs, older non-HD content and low-resolution streaming video to Full HD 1080p on a compatible full HD screen. It also supports an array of audio formats including Dolby Digital Plus / TrueHD and DTS-HD Bitstream Outputs.

These units deliver 2D and 3D content playback. New added features include dual recording, full web browser and smart view (second TV streaming to other compatible devices such as smartphone and table). These features coupled with AllShare DMS lets consumers push and pull content from a Samsung Smart TV to a compatible smartphone, PC or tablet via the BD-HDD. The Samsung 3D Blu-Ray PVR players consolidate and store media onto one device via either the 500GB or 1TB in-built hard disk drive.
