Self proclaimed “crazy miscreant” Robert Downey Jr landed in Sydney last night for the premiere of his latest film, the big screen adaptation of Marvel comic, Ironman. Downey Jr plays the role of eccentric billionaire maverick and scientist, Tony Stark, whose alter ego is Ironman. The film also stars Jeff Bridges, Gwneth Paltrow and Jon Favreau (who also donned the director’s hat for this project).

Ironman, marks Marvel’s first venture into the moviemaking business. Yes, there have been Marvel comic book heroes brought to life on screen before – but they’ve always been produced by an outside film studio.

Cybershack had the opportunity to speak with Robert Downey Jr and Jon Favreau – and you can check out those interviews later this week.

Ironman opens in cinemas on May 1. The Ironman game will be released by Sega on the same date.
