Protests planned over internet censorship

Saturday December 13 will be the day the Digital Liberty Coalition marches against plans to filter the Internet.

Protests are being made to march on the streets against the Federal Government’s plans to institute filters on the Internet.

The event will be supported by MP’s and an unnamed Greens senator addressing the rallies.

NoCensorship.info, set up by the Digital Liberty Coalition, is being used to organise the protests.

The rallies are planned to take place during lunchtime next Saturday at 11am in the CBD at Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Hobart.

Senator Stephen Conroy has dismissed protestors, saying they are not interested in helping protect children. Protestors point out that Conroy has failed to answer the technical criticisms of the filters.
