Pinterest App For Android
By Ryan Borja
- Available from Google Play store
- Free app to download
- No longer invite-only requirement to join
After a 12 month wait, the popular pinboard-style photo sharing site, Pinterest, is now available for Android-based devices due to a recently released app.
The expansion efforts bring to more users Pinterest, which only few weeks ago also dropped the invite-only requirement to let users access its website.
Pinterest is a visual bookmarking tool that allows users to collect, organise and share content online. Users can mark or pin the content they like and create collections that people can view and share.
The free Android app was engineered and optimised to work on a wide range of Android tablet and smart phone devices. The app design will retain its familiar cascade of tiled images and will be made available in the Android store this week for Kindle Fire owners. The app is already available via the Google Play store.
