“Once installed I found it to be pretty painless, and it worked great whilst keeping a snappy look to my desktop.”

I procured a copy of Norton Internet security 2009 at the last SGL and was asked to write some some thoughts on the product. I never liked Norton due to some issues I had with the 2006 version so i was initially skeptical. But once installed I found it to be pretty painless, and it worked great whilst keeping a snappy look to my desktop. As for the silent mode I think it was kind of annoying that i had to manually turn it on and that there was no option for just turning it on and off as opposed to setting a time limit because gaming is something I do when I feel like, not to a time-limit. But nonetheless I did enjoy the fact that there was such a feature.

Another feature i enjoyed about Norton 2009 was how little it impacted on my systems performance. 9,000 K memory usage when idle is great compared to other Internet security products such as NOD32 and Avast! which both used around 50,000 KB whilst idle. The fact that Norton waited until I wasn’t using my computer to initiate updates and scans was fantastic, rather than annoying me with pop-ups mid-game.

Norton exceeded my expectations and I have a feeling I will subscribe to 2010 next year as well. Thanks heaps.
