Nintendo has just release its major system update for the Wii U home console for Australia and New Zealand.

The update delivers a number of enhanced features specifically those that are meant to improve stability and performance. Such features include the addition of standby functions, updates to Miiverse and the Nintendo eShop, improvements in download management and the internet browser and updates to parental controls and system settings to name a few.

Aside from faster load times when switching between applications, the update also features the launch of the Wii U Virtual console service which allows users to relive some of their favourite games from classic home consoles. Popular titles included in the virtual console include Super Mario World, Excitebike, Mario’s Super Picross, F-Zero, Ice Climber, Donkey Kone Jr. and Punch-Out.

Lastly, Nintendo also added the Wii U Panorama View in which Wii U owners can use the GamePad controller to look in every direction to control an immersive 360-degree video guided tour while inside the living room. Four individual video tours are offered for AUD $2.50 each on the Nintendo eShop.
