Nintendo has just announced a new Mario Bros. game scheduled to hit Australia and New Zealand by 13th July – Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros for the Nintendo 3DS family of consoles.

The title is the fourth instalment of the popular RPG series Mario & Luigi and is about the brothers’ adventure in a mysterious Pi’illo island to save Princess Peach from the ghostly bat king Antasma. The game features two worlds where the two characters move around.

The game also makes use of the capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS or 3DS XL. For instance, the game features a so-called Luiginary attacks and moves which utilises the console’s secondary screen to interact with the game or to initiate an action from either characters.

As with other titles in the RPG series, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. uses the classic levelling-up mechanic which includes earning experience points, improving common attributes such as health points and power, plus the addition of classic franchise attributes such as Bro Points and a badge reward system, whereby both brothers can find or buy badges in-game that can be combined to earn the brothers useful rewards after  certain actions.
