MySpace is set to relaunch with a major site overhaul planned in hopes of attracting new users to the social networking site.

The site redesign will be more than a simple ‘face lift’; MySpace developers plan changes to
the site’s home page, navigation, profile editing, search, and MySpaceTV player facilities. The changes to the site’s design will be launched later this week with more changes expected in the coming months.

To initiate the changes, MySpace is said to be working with Lucene Open-Source engine and community. This is the first time MySpace has worked with open source.
