New dino-toy set to be big for kids

The name “Playskool” might make you think of brightly coloured toys for your kids but one thing that probably won’t spring to mind is “Agggh!!! Dinosaur! Quick kill it!”

The name “Playskool” might make you think of brightly coloured simple toys for your tiny tots but one thing that probably won’t spring to mind is “Agggh!!! Dinosaur! Quick kill it!”

Well, aside for the “quick kill it” part, the dinosaurs are now heading for your children’s playroom courtesy of a new robotic dinosaur named Kota the Triceratops.

While not in the same league as the self-aware Pleo, Kota is a comfy triceratops that oozes cuteness and uses 11 sensors for touch & sound responses like turning its head, groaning, or wagging its tail.

Interestingly, Kota is big enough to sit on, but because it’s not an overly expensive mechanized toy, it lacks the technical side to actually get up and walk around.

Still, it beats a teddy bear.
