NAB tech glitch leaves customers without pay

The NAB is the second bank in the last month to be crippled by a technical glitch, leaving 1000s of clients unable to use their business accounts (Westpac was affected by a software error a couple of weeks ago that caused some customers to be paid twice their regular wages, others not at all).

The NAB software glitch left customers around the country without access to their wages as accounts were frozen and payroll transactions crippled.

The NAB business banking service offers customers a direct link into NAB’s banking systems, which is used to process an organisation’s payroll and banking transactions.

Luisa Ford (NAB spokesperson) confirmed reports that the bank’s buisness and retail customers were unable to process payments yesterday due to a software glitch.

NAB’s retail chief operating officer, Lisa Gray, said the bank would reimburse any fees that customers and employees incur as a result of the delay in processing payments.
