Mobile phone subscriptions hit 3.3 billion

A new study has shown that around half of the world’s population has at least one mobile phone subscription. Twenty six years since the first mobile phone was launched, they now account for the largest amount of sales in the consumer electronics world. With 6.6 billion people in the world in total, the phone subscriptions still have a lot of catching up to do, but with a rate of 3 billion every twenty years, it shouldn’t take long.
