Man murders wife over Facebook status

A British man has murdered his wife of 15 years after she listed herself as “single” on Facebook.

Wayne Forrester murdered his wife, Emma, after she changed her online Facebook profile to “single” after he’d moved out of the house.

The ludicrous reasoning was confirmed in Forrester’s statement to the police.

“Emma and I had just split up. She forced me out.

“She then posted messages on an internet website telling everyone she had left me and was looking to meet other men.

“I loved Emma and felt totally devastated and humiliated about what she had done to me.”

Once Forrester had noticed the Facebook change, he drove to his wife’s house and attacked her with a kitchen knife and a meat cleaver while she was sleeping. Her screams alerted neighbours, who found Forrester still in the bedroom sitting in the blood.

Forrester pleaded guilty to murder and must serve a minimum of 14 years imprisonment. The couple had been together for 15 years.
