It comes at no surprise to hear that European scientists have declared loud music can damage your hearing…

The scientists warn that listening to digital music players for too long or with the volume up too high can cause permanent hearing loss.

The scientists report that five to 10 per cent of the people who listen to an MP3 player for more than one hour per day each week at a high volume risk permanent hearing loss.

The study was conducted at the request of the European Commission. The findings reveal up to 10 million people are at risk.

EU rules already restrict noise levels from such MP3s to 100 decibels, but the European Commission said that there was growing concern about excessive exposure to such devices, especially among youths.

It is estimated that up to 100 million people listen to MP3 players daily.
