Last week, both LG and Samsung announced that they will be launching smartphones with curved displays this month. And today LG has confirmed that its first flexible OLED display for smartphones has now entered mass production.

According to the company, the development of flexible display panels should also benefit other products including tablets, automotive displays and wearable devices. The said flexible OLED panels are just 0.44mm thin and will be manufactured from plastic substrates instead of glass making it flexible but virtually unbreakable.

As far as handsets go, the only information we have is about the LG G Flex line or the Z-series that features a concave 6-inch display. Other features of the alleged phone include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip and Adreno 330 GPU.
