Baby Boomers will remember the wristwatch phone from Dick Tracy cartoons – well now it seems LG has decided to bring the conept into the 21st century with the announcement of the world’s first wrist watch mobile video phone.

LG described the phone as a “3G watch phone” and stated the model has a touch-screen dialling system with a camera and a speaker built in to enable users to make video calls over a high speed internet connection, It also recognises voices, transforms text to speech, has a Bluetooth function and plays mp3 music.

The phone will be on display at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas from January 8-11.
