Lego Battles For DSi

Lego goes for generic experience with new DSi game

Lego Battles is the latest game from the franchise, which has done away with the licensing-type games such as the popular Batman, Star Wars and Indiana Jones. It is also only available on the Dsi at present, but other games have been available on other consoles, so it would probably make sense that it will become available on the Wii or Playstation at some stage.

The game still does build-and-play whereby gamers have to build their own bases and can mix and match squad members to suit their needs during game play.

There are three themes – pirates, space and castles, with six story lines and 90 different levels to battle through.

Gmaers can have swordsmen clash with pirates and ninjas face off against alien spaceships with multiple opportunities for customisation as well as unlockable treasures, which are one of the mainstays of Lego games.

Players can also challenge friends on the battlefield in multiplayer mode through wireless DS multi-card play. Players can fight on land, sea and in the air using 30 different vehicles , and there are 55 playable characters and 30 vehicles.
