Hisense will launch its giant 100-inch laser TV locally

Hisense today announced it will bring its huge Series L 100-inch 4K Laser TV to Australia.

Operating more like a projector, the Series L Laser TV offers 4K resolution, HDR10 and a fast motion rate thanks to Hisense’s Smooth Motion Plus technology.

“This unapologetically big and bold TV is yet another example of our commitment to bringing Australian consumers more choice at the premium end of the market. Globally, Hisense has invested heavily in the research and development of its proprietary laser technology, and the result is a truly innovative and exceptional TV, that provides an unparalleled at-home cinema experience,” said Andre Iannuzzi, Head of Marketing at Hisense Australia.

Utilising a short throw laser projector, the TV is able to display its image just 19 centimetres from the wall where its screen is installed. The screen is anti-reflective, so typical projector woes of darkened rooms and light bleed aren’t an issue.

Hisense promises an eye-friendly viewing distance of 4 metres, compared to roughly 9 metres with a conventional LED TV of the same size.

The TV comes with an audio setup by JBL Cinema Sound. It also promises hundreds of apps including Netflix, Stan and YouTube.

Pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed, but is expected in the first half of this year.
