After an eight year absence Gateway computers come back to Australia
Acer Computer Australia has relaunched the Gateway PC brand into the Australian market, which is designed for the premium segment of the market and style conscious consumer.
“The introduction of Gateway into the Australian market is an important milestone for Acer Computer Australia’s history,” says Nigel Gore, General Manager – Product Division. “The Gateway brand will be an excellent addition to Acer…we believe that our combined scale will lead to significant efficiencies and will help reach our current goal of becoming number two PC vendor within Australia.”
The first products to be available in the Australian market will include the LT, NV, EC, ID and P-79 FX Series.
The Summer Breeze Collection (LT series) has classic and elegant style with a choice of colours – black and red. This netbook with an 11.6-inch HD display features built-in WiFi, webcam, Bluetooth and Dolby headphone technology. With the multi-gesture touchpad, users can browse photos and web pages by sliding two fingers horizontally. The 5-in-1 card reader enables immediate display and download of pictures, while there is a 160GB disk drive for storage.
The Winter Snow Collection (NV series) comes in four monogram designs featuring a gliding metallic logo band. Other features include refined silver trim and rounded edges with capacitive-touch launch keys. The NV Series gives an easy access to all your digital content and multimedia including entertainment, and enjoyment of surround sounds with Dolby Sound Room technology.
The Spring Butterfly Collection (EC series) is claimed to be able to run eight hours on a single charge while giving you a thin-and-light laptop with an expressive design, enhanced usability and energy savings. The EC Series has a touch-sensitive launch keys that handle communications, a power-saving settings, and making backups. The EC Series also features additional details right down to the mirrored touchpad button, touchpad lock and the brushed aluminium palm rest.
The Autumn Shade Collection (ID series) comes with a fashionable black-and-silver interior. It houses a 15.6-inch LED-backlit frameless edge to edge widescreen display. The NightSky Black exterior with chrome-plated logo and tail-fin shape, are a Pininfarina-inspired design.
The Perfect Storm Collection (P Series FX) is said to have lightning fast performance, featuring NVIDIA graphics – built for high-end gaming, video editing, graphic design and intensive 3D apps. It is capable of supporting up to 1 Terabyte of storage space using 7200RPM drives.
