Fossil’s leaked smartwatches have been officially announced

Details about Fossil’s new smartwatch have been leaking over the weekend, and they’ve now become an official announcement.

Fossil has just announced two new Google WearOS smartwatches – the Carlyle and the Julianna. Carlyle is a darker themed offering with black, dark silver, and black/brown colourways, while Julianna comes with rose gold, rose gold and black, and rose gold ‘blush’. All watches have the same display size, 22mm band size and spec sheets.

Fossil’s 5th generation smartwatches feature 44mm casings, with 8GB of storage, 1GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 3100 processor. Fossil says they have an improved battery life along with a speaker and microphone for those secret agent moments.

Google’s WearOS is fairly customisable, so Fossil has added a bit of its own flavor by adding battery improvement modes. In addition to the regular performance mode, there’s a “time only” feature which turns your smartwatch into a regular watch with a week of battery life, an “extended mode” which disables non-essential features of the watch, and a custom mode in which the user can enable or disable features as they please.

A few models are currently available on Fossil’s online store for $499. The remainder are likely to launch in the coming weeks.
