Fleshy Remote Rigid To The Touch

A freaky remote that is at concept stage would make for interesting after dinner conversation

A quirky little story out of the US has a floppy remote that becomes rigid when it senses an approaching human hand.

We kid you not. To be fair, it is only at concept stage, but the technology inside it would be worth a look.

Made from a gel compound, we’re guessing it must have some sort of malleable polymer that can be manipulated by some sort of fuzzy logic.

According to the blurb “A soft light emanates somewhere from within as the center of the device begins to slowly rise and fall, mimicking the tranquil motions of breath. Left undisturbed, the remote will slumber peacefully. But should a human hand approach, sensors inside alert it to the imminent touch. It stops breathing, grows rigid – the light from within is extinguished.”

We did check the calendar, and it’s not April Fool’s Day…
