Facebook sent a press invite today giving details on an event on Thursday that apparently will talk about the new look of Facebook’s news feed.

The event will reportedly focus on the improvements that the company is bringing in to the news feed which include enlarged images not only from users but also from Facebook Pages and Instagram. The Music Feed will also be improved with the inclusion of additional information such as nearby concerts, updates from artists and upcoming albums on top of the information about what your friends are listening to, which is already available in your current news feeds.

Ads will also play a major part in the update. Rumours hint that the ads, just like images may occupy larger real estate on the Facebook news feed, which is just logical given Facebook’s recent acquisition of Atlas – and advertising platform previously owned by Microsoft.

However, these rumoured changes may first appear on the full website and only later on Facebook’s mobile app. Nevertheless, these changes mark how Facebook is changing their services in order to provide more information to users. These changes will take effect on March 7th U.S.  time.
