Facebook And Twitter For Xbox Soon

Microsoft is tapping into the social networking market via its premier gaming console

Mentioned in June, but now becoming a reality, Xbox Live is about to have Facebook and Twitter as added functions to its console, giving tweens and generation Y gamers an all-in-one solution to their social networking/gaming needs…in the UK anyway.

The latest feature addition to the Xbox Live on November 17th with users able to download the applications via the Xbox website. But there is a catch (why wouldn’t there be?). Users need an Xbox Live Gold Account.

With the Facebook application you will be able to talk to friends and send them screenshots of games you are playing. It will also be handy to discuss issues with fellow gamers.

No official word from Xbox in Australia, but they did say we were getting the service back in June. Watch this space.
