Electronic Arts has announced today that it will be updating its open-ended city-building computer and console video game series – SimCity.

EA has recently received a number of negative comments about SimCity after its launch last month where the company’s servers failed to handle user demand, forcing gamers to prematurely abandon their games just as they were getting started.

The update is said to allow users to access cities more properly. Moreover, the random appearance of air pollution and unexpected influxes of tourist, among other problems will be fixed. EA will also bring mansions for city mayors and provide a fix for players who are getting struck by natural disasters too often.

EA has already informed users that the company will need to take down its servers for a few hours in order for the changes to be issued. The server downtime will happen on Monday starting at 4pm EST in the US.
