Despite the no show of Mac big wig Steve Jobs and rumours that there will be little to announce – thousands of Apple fanatics are making the pilgrimage to MacWorld.

Apple’s keynote address is set to be delivered on Tuesday morning, but media analysts expect few surprises will be announced unlike lat year’s MacWorld which saw innovations such as the 3G iPhone and new versions of the iPod.

Attendance at last year’s MacWorld ranked above 50,000 with similar numbers still expected this year despite Apple saying they will be pulling out of the event after this year.

Apple suggested the success of its online and realworld stores have made the need for inclusion in an expo unnecessary.

Meanwhile MacWorld is set with the ask of evolving if it is to survive in the future:
“While there is no question that Macworld is going to evolve and change in 2010, the fundamental importance of the event remains the same,” said Macworld vice president Paul Kent.

“(It is) the unique ability to put exciting new Apple-related products directly into the hands of users and to inspire those users to put their products to work in new and innovative ways.”

MacWorld runs from January 6-9 2009.
