Kogan’s Android phone, the Agora, has been delayed indefinitely due to “interoperability issues”. Kogan has been forced to refund money on customer pre orders.
Kogan MD, Ruslan Kogan released the following statement:
“The Agora reached a very late stage of development, manufacturing had commenced and we were within days of shipping the product to customers. But it now seems certain the current Agora specifications will limit its compatibility or interoperability in the near future.”
Mr Kogan said one of the potential problems was applications with a higher resolution and screen size than what the Agora could handle.
“I now believe that in order to access all the Android platform has to offer, the Agora must be redesigned.”
Kogan was set to release the Agora on January 29. It would have been the first Google Andorid based phone in Australia.
