Nokia And HTC End Patent Dispute

While Samsung and Apple are still going after each other in court for their various patent disputes, Nokia and HTC has finally come to an agreement which would allow both companies to license each other’s patents. Since 2012, the Finnish company has filed over 50 suits against HTC world-wide, four of which was won by Nokia which effectively banned some HTC smartphone models in several markets… 

 

While Samsung and Apple are still going after each other in court for their various patent disputes, Nokia and HTC has finally come to an agreement which would allow both companies to license each other’s patents.

Since 2012, the Finnish company has filed over 50 suits against HTC world-wide, four of which was won by Nokia which effectively banned some HTC smartphone models in several markets.

Details of the deal are confidential. Nevertheless, the deal will definitely be beneficial not only to both HTC and Nokia as it would make the production of their smartphones less troublesome in terms of legal rights are concerned but it will also be beneficial to consumers as the free use of both companies with smartphone technology should in theory help both Nokia and HTC make better phones.
