New Galaxy Gears To Arrive Next Week

Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is already making news even before its announcement next Monday. But according to Samsung insiders, the Galaxy S4 won’t be taking centre stage alone. Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is already making news even before its announcement next Monday. But according to Samsung insiders, the Galaxy S5 won’t be taking centre stage alone.

According to sources of The Verge, the Korean tech giant is also planning to unveil multiple versions of the Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch, with one version reportedly sporting the company’s own brew of Linux – Tizen OS.

There are also reports saying that a version of the Galaxy Gear 2 will have a lighter version of Tizen based on HTML5. This will make the smartwatch more carrier-friendly and third party developers will be able to create apps for the device easier.

With all things said, it appears Samsung is dead-set on releasing Tizen to the public in MWC – one way or another. In case a Tizen-powered Galaxy Gear doesn’t come into view, Samsung might showcase the OS elsewhere – maybe on the ZEQ 9000 or ZTE Geek smartphones.
