LG recently announced its much anticipated 100-inch laser display to Australia. The product which was first introduced in CES 2013 earlier this year boasts the largest out-of-the consumer TV broadcast experience currently available at 100 inches.

The system is composed of two components. First is the anti-reflection screen which rejects light from above and reduces ambient light from being reflected off the screen for improved pictures with deep contrast levels. Second is the 100-inch laser DLP device that projects the image even at a distance of 56cm from the screen.

The device uses an advanced laser illumination system that consists of 36 laser diodes embedded in the projection unit that deliver bright picture quality that eliminates the use of mercury-based lamps. Moreover, the system can run for up to 25,000 hours in economy mode which is roughly equivalent to 5 hours a day for 13 years.

The 100-inch Laser Display bundle will include free installation and will be available exclusively at Harvey Norman stores from mid-July for $8,999. And to sweeten the deal, LG is also throwing in its 1TB Twin HD Tuner recorder and 3D Blu-ray player (HR938T).
